Emily's first day of 1st Grade

Hard time picking photos today, so I decided on pictures that I took at Dairy Queen.  I took the kids out for lunch today as a "Last Day of Summer" treat before Emily starts school tomorrow...

There are MANY more pictures that I put in a set on FLICKR - Emily needed a picture for her "About Me" paper at school, so I took a bunch of shots, then we went to the store to pick one out to print for her.  Some of the pictures are quite good, but you can see them all in the set.  Enjoy!

 They were playing cowboys, but they only had one horse (a rocking horse) so Emily built another horse out of legos and a couple of stools... clever girl!

No nap today, and he is SO tired!

It was Back 2 School night tonight and we got to meet Emily's 1st grade teacher!  It was crazy hectic there with all the kids and parents checking out the new building (very, very nice!!).  Emily found her desk, left her supplies in it, and talked to her new teacher.  Then we checked out the library, had root beer floats in the cafeteria, the kids ran laps around the gymnasium and we scoped out the new playground, too!  It was fun!  On every desk in her classroom were name plates and new little friends, this little bear is named Ariel (perfect for Emily as the Little Mermaid is Ariel) and Emily was excited to get a toy at school!

He's all stuffy and sniffly... his nose is red, his cheeks are shiny... not very photogenic today!  :(  Hopefully he'll be feeling better tomorrow!

I had this little dog speaker thingy hiding in my craft room and thought that Emily would like it for her iPod... she loves it!  Nana Rosie told her to take a picture of it, so I took a picture of her taking the picture!


And, here's the picture that she took - notice the backdrop!

This goofy little dog taps it's foot to the music, bops his head, wags his tail.. his ears wiggle and he has lights on his face that light up in time to the music.  And, even when he's not being used, he barks, whines, growls and yips... he's been banished to the craft room because he wouldn't stop barking after the kids went to bed - and no, there's no off button...

Playing games on the Wii - he's playing the Cars racing game, but he's not actually racing, just seeing how fast he can go before crashing into a fence, or building, or sign, or anything else that may get in the way!
